Forward Clinton Njie is in hot water after being accused of discreetly smuggling women while on camp with his national team.
The erstwhile Olympique Lyon sensation is reported to have broken squad rules by arriving in camp 24hrs late along with women whom, it is being alleged, he smuggled into the team’s hotel without knowledge of officials.
The incident, it’s purported, occurred in the build-up to the Indomitable Lions’ 1-0 friendly match defeat to Burkina Faso two months ago at the Stade Pierre Brisson.
The 24-year-old climbed off the substitutes’ bench in that game in the 64th minute as teammate Olinga’s replacement before having a goal disallowed ten minutes later.
This is the first time the wide-man is being linked with such an issue since making his debut for the Indomitable Lions September 2016.
Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) has taken umbrage over the matter and this week wrote to the Marseille star demanding answers
“According to various reports of the friendly match between Cameroon and Burkina Faso, which was played in France on May 27, 2018, we understand that you joined the camp on May 25 at night instead of May 24, without any form of explanation,” part of the letter reads as translated from French.

When contacted by a section of Cameroonian media, the player is reported to have vigorously denied the allegations which seem to be a process of disciplinary proceedings against the former Tottenham Hotspurs player.
Njie made his debut for his country in September 2016 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Democratic Republic of Congo.
He has so far scored seven goals in 27 appearances for the Central Africa football giants and registered several assists.
