10 Time Tunisian League Winners Sack Coach 27 Days into Appointment

Kais Zouaghi has been sacked as gaffer of Etoile du Sahel, Ducor Sports understands.

The news, not announced yet by the club at the time of writing this piece, comes much as a shock for a coach who was appointed just twenty-seven days ago.

The Beja-born 42-year-old tactician left the managerial helm of AS Gabes for what he thought would be an “intriguing” second coming at Etoile du Sahel following his first stint in 2017.

Talks of Kais’ dismissal have been looming in the grapevine for long on the heels of their exit in the Arab Cup, League Cup and CAF Champions League.

He was acquired to instill some audaciousness in a dispirited side he inherited that has plucked off just seven wins, drawing five and losing four in as sixteen outings –an average show for a side considered a traditional league heavyweight.

Zouaghi’s exit creates a void in a middle of the season with the duo of Naoufouil Chabel and Imed Ben Younes assigned to temporarily fill the seat.
