Harambee Stars have completed their preparations ahead of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Comoros. The much awaited clash will take place on Wednesday at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. Kick off is at 7:00pm (EAT, GMT +3).
The Kenyan team began fine-tuning three weeks ago ahead of the double header, with the reverse fixture taking place in Moroni on Sunday.
Stars had a feel of the match venue on Tuesday and looked great in form, in what was coach Jacob Mulee’s last training season, and the first where he worked with the whole squad following the arrival on Monday night of captain Victor Wanyama and goalkeeper Arnold Origi.
“Despite the delays caused by the COVID-19 restrictions, I believe we have trained sufficiently for the AFCON qualifier match tomorrow and I hope that we will attain a positive result,” said Coach Mulee.
Kenya have beaten Comoros in their last three meetings and they will be looking for a chance to fight for a first group win since they drew 1-1 against both Egypt and Comoros in the first two games.
“Comoros is definitely a team worth looking out for but I believe the coaches have prepared us sufficiently and the ball now falls in our court to deliver a positive result,” said Arnold Origi.
The Comoros National team (Les Coelacantes) is expected to jet into the country on Tuesday afternoon and will have a feel of the field of play on Tuesday evening.
