Tunisia’s Version of ‘Mo Salah’ Voted Qatari League’s Best

Tunisia’s Youssef Msakni has been voted as Qatar Stars League’s best player of the season.

The forward, was accorded the gong during the end of the season awards gala of which he couldn’t attend.

The one-time Caf Champions League winner with Esperance du Tunis is feted after rolling in twenty-five goals in twenty-two outings  in a campaign that had Qatar top flight side Al Duhail scooping the title.

One of the most sought-after forwards in the Arabian country, Msakni current goal tally could have soared even more if not for a nasty ligament injury he picked up at close end of the term.

The abrasion left Youssef –likened to Egypt’s Mohamed Salah in playing style- in tears, ending his World Cup ambition.

As a result, this prize comes as sort of a consolation for missing out on the Russia games.

The absence of the playmaker opens up a void in the Carthage Eagles’ midfield and the North African country’s federation and gaffer Nabil Maaloul have had tough times finding a replacement.

In recent weeks, TFF advances on Swedish-born Kerim were shunned following the Djurgarden IF starlet’s refusal to commit his future to them, calling it a big decision to make in a short notice.
