Congo-Brazzaville U-20 coach Candido Valdo has named a 24-man squad to face Senegal in the third and final round of qualifiers for the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of the Nations.
Valdo has kept the bulk of the players that did duty against Botswana in the previous round where Congo won 4-1 on aggregate (1-1 away, 3-0 home) on May.
The Young Red Devils mentor has included three new players- midfielder Alex Obambot (FC Nantes-France), forward Mboungou Prestige (Diables Noirs) and defender Mapengo Sabin (RC Olimpique).
The first leg clash between Congo and Senegal will be played on Friday, 13 July at Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat in Brazzaville.
Senegal qualified for the last round after beating Egypt 7-6 in a penalty shootout after both rounds ended in goalless draws.
The two nations will lock horns for the return leg on the weekend of 20 – 22 July in Senegal.
The 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will be held in Niger between February 24 and March 10, 2019.
The top four teams of the tournament will qualify to 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland between May 25 and June 16.
