FIFA Issues an ultimatum to Club Africain to Pay Former Coach or Risk Sanctions

FIFA has issued an ultimatum to Tunisian Premier League outfit Club Africain to pay Dutch coach Ruud Krol or risk sanctions, Ducor Sports understands.

The North African club parted ways with the 83-time capped Dutch former international two years ago.

Krol was ushered in as gaffer tasked to turn around the club’s fortunes before his love-affair with the side ended in acrimony.

The South African Premier Soccer League title winner later departed for CS Sfaxien whom he’s under contract with for 11 months.

However, hoping his unceremonious exit from Club Africain would be addressed, which involves unpaid wages and bonuses, the 69-year-old sued the North African team to FIFA who accepted the manager’s version of events.

The World football governing body gave its ruling, giving Club Africain an ultimatum to pay up or risk incurring the Luzern-based institution’s wrath which could come in the form of first, a six-point deduction, then a demotion to the second tier.

The club has two months to settle Krol who refused to negotiate insisting on being paid in full.

Ruud is no stranger in the African game having coached Egypt’s Zamalek, Esperance du Tunis, Raja Casablanca, Al –Ahly Tripoli and South Africa’s Orlando Pirates.
