Benin international defender Khaled Adenon has signed a two-year-contract with Al-Wehda, the Saudi Professional League team said on Monday.

The 34-year-old left French Ligue 1 side Amines for free despite having another 12 months remaining on his contract.

”Adenon is an experienced player. He is also good in the aerial game, so we get added value to our special situations,” Al Wehda manager, Ahmed Mido told reporters.

This latest switch to Saudi Arabia makes it the fifth move for Adenon in six years and his long list of clubs includes French side Le Man, Bastia and Lucon.

He arrived at the Picardy club in 2015 and played 125 matches for them, experiencing two promotions during his time there.

A former youth international, Adenon has been capped 69 times by Benin and was part of the Squirrels squad that participated in 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.

He also played at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where he contributed much to Benin’s last-16 finish.
