Jurgen Klopp says it’s not possible to stop Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a hundred per cent.
The Gabonese captain evolved into a lethal striker under the Liverpool manager’s time at Dortmund, perfectly filling the void created by the departure of Lewandowski to Bayern.
Morphed from a winger to a centre-forward, the 29-year-old has transitioned into a lethal striker as he bids turning up for Arsenal up against his former gaffer Klopp today afternoon.
And the Anfield tactician points out the Gabonese as a threat, saying it’s never possible to have him stopped a hundred per cent.
“So far when we have defended against him we have managed OK, but it’s never possible to do it 100% properly because of the speed he has,” the Champions League-winning manager said ahead of their renewed rivalry in the English Premier League today.
He continued: “He is a brilliant footballer and really good at being the connecting point too. [Nicolas] Pépé is another one with proper speed who offers runs in behind, so that is something else we have to consider.”
“Arsenal are a strong team, they have made the same start to the season as we have. I wouldn’t describe any of our performances so far as perfect, but at this stage of the season it is not so much about being perfect as about being ready.”
Aubameyang plucked off twenty-two league goals last season in thirty-six games and has already made it two in two outings so far.
