Chairman of a local Algerian club was subjected to attack by supporters angry over the team’s state of affairs, Ducor Sports can report.

USM El Harrach (USMH) are positioned at the basement of the Algerian 16-team second division without a win in six matches, boasting just a return of one point.

Based in Harrach, a suburb in Algiers, USMH are being greeted by torrid times ranging from non-payment of players wages, lack of a permanent first-team coach, to financial crisis culminating in their unprepossessing performances.

Fans waved banners and placards launching stinging attacks at the president Mohammed Laib, demanding for the entire board’s resignation or dissolution.

Faithfuls of the team feel USMH had been tight-lipped through it all, with their demands for transparency in the running of the team bearing no fruits.

And today, they took a drastic step by attacking the club president Mohammed Laib in a show of discontent.

Fans threw volleys of foul-mouth rants and fought the president, reports coming from the Algerian capital say.

It’s, however, unclear whether Laib sustained injuries. The club hasn’t issued a statement over the reported fracas.
