‘Injured’ Aina Out Of Super Eagles Friendly Against Brazil

Super Eagles wing-back Ola Aina has pulled out of this weekend’s international friendly match against Brazil amid speculations that he is about to call time on his international career.

Super Eagles wing-back Ola Aina has pulled out of this weekend’s international friendly match against Brazil amid speculations that he is about to call time on his international career.

According to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) the Torino of Italy player defender asked to be excused from the game on medical grounds.

“Torino of Italy wing-back Ola Aina is out of Sunday’s international friendly against Brazil. He picked up an injury after a domestic accident and will not be available,” the NFF posted.

Also missing Eagles game are the trio of Kenneth Omeruo, Samuel Kalu and long term absentee Ahmed Musa, due to injuries.

However, NFF has not yet declared if they will call an urgent replacement for Aina as most of the players have already arrived in Singapore from their various locations.

The Super Eagles had their first training session on Friday as part of preparations for the game which will take place on Sunday at the Singapore National Stadium.

Brazil defeated the Super Eagles 3-0 the last time both teams met in a friendly encounter in 2003 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja
