Tunisian Premier League outfit Club Africain have had their finances beefed up with the signing of a contract with Doha-based telecommunication Company Ooredoo, Ducor Sports understands.
The two-year-deal running until 2021’s end will fetch the former African club champions 2.5 million dinars a year, accumulating to 5m overall.
Considering the North Africans are battling financial issues with debts hovering over their shoulder and a possible looming FIFA ban to contend with, Ooredoo have opted to disburse 1m dinars into the club’s coffers for a start.
The development comes as welcome news and brings, to effect, the side’s partnership with mobile company CA Mobile to an end. CA Mobile were paying the team based on their social media following.
Club Africain’s recent financial crisis led fans into setting up GoFundMe accounts to help keep the outfit up and running.
