Cameroon’s head of state Paul Biya ordered the termination of Piccini Group’s contract, it has emerged.

Piccini Group signed a deal with the Central African nation’s leadership for the construction of a stadium named after president Paul Biya Sports Complex.

The complex is one of a number of stadiums set to be used for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations -a tournament Cameroon are meant to host.

However, it has surfaced that Paul Biya ordered the group to be relieved of construction duties according to CamFoot.

The move followed the continuous delay of the site’s completion including failure over the group’s top dogs to settle its workers of their allowance.

Continental football governing body CAF have been linked with Paul Biya’s leadership via the sports ministry regarding the state of affairs of the pitches ahead of the 2021 CAN.

Cameroon were billed to stage the 2019 CAN before they were stripped of the rights over poor preparations with Egypt instead handed the hosting duties.
