Esperance Striker Disappointed With Vita Draw

Esperance de Tunis forward Anice Badri was disappointed to only walk with a point against AS Vita in a CAF Champions League group D match played Stade Olympique de Radès on Saturday.

Esperance de Tunis forward Anice Badri was disappointed to only walk with a point against AS Vita in a CAF Champions League group D match played Stade Olympique de Radès on Saturday.

After starting the group stages encounters with two wins, the Blood and Gold dropped two points after drawing 0-0 with the Black Dolphins.

Badri, who was voted as the Man of the Match, was admittedly surprised that the encounter ended goalless.

“This is not a very good result for us, we wanted to win at home. We played against a team that defended well,” Badri told reporters after the game.

“For that game to end nil-nil it’s a bit surprising but again it’s just unfortunate we didn’t get a goal. That’s a bit disappointing,” he added.

The same sentiments were echoed by Esperance coach Moine Chaabani who also praised his boys for a good effort and exuded confidence that they will have a better performance in the coming matches.

“We wanted the three points but we weren’t fortunate enough. Seven points in three games isn’t a bad yield. The players gave their best and everyone is battling for the qualification. We are still first in our group but we need to continue working harder and harder,” the coach said.

Esperance are still at the top of the Group D standings with seven points, while Vita Club are sitting at the fourth spot on the table after defeats from their opening two games in the group stage.
