Al Ahly’s €2m Striker Dreams of Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona

Latest Al Ahly buy Aliou Badji is already talking of donning the shirt of the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea or Barcelona.

The Senegal forward was signed from Austria Bundesliga outfit Rapid Vienna for about €2m on Thursday.

His decision to quit the 32-time Austrian league winners was precipitated by poor footballing minutes and seized Al Ahly’s offer for an escape with both hands where he now hopes to re-launch his career.

The 22-year-old plans to use his move to the five-time African club champions as a springboard to return to the European game as he dreams of playing for the aforesaid European heavyweights.

“I am concentrating with Ahly and I hope to achieve all the trophies with the team, but my dream is to wear Chelsea’s jersey one day, or play for one of the European top-flights like Barcelona or Real Madrid.

“English Premier League team Chelsea is my preferred team since I was a child,” the erstwhile Djurgarden IF goal-getter told Ah Ahly’s Tv channel upon completion of his transfer.

“I hope playing for Ahly will help me to join Senegal’s senior national team squad during their participation in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations,” he said.

“I am looking forward to improving with Ahly, as it will be my way to book a regular place in the Senegal squad,” he says.
