Kwesi Appiah, the former Ghana national team head coach, has said that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) must settle its long-standing debt to him.
Appiah says the GFA owes him five month’s salary arrears from August to December 2019.
The 59-year-old has already sent a letter to the federation reminding them of his dues amounting $175,000 as a result of his dismissal from the Black Stars role.
Appiah was fired in January this year after the new GFA boss dissolved all national team technical benches.
“I decided to keep quiet on my salaries issues all these while but I think if you are working with someone and you are no more, the best way is to give the person whatever he deserves and there will be peace,” he told Starr FM Sports on Wednesday.
“The question is how do I feed my family? Meanwhile, I remember when they took over, Dr. Kofi Amoah gave them 1,000,000 dollars and I even understand there is also some 500,000 dollars from FIFA or whatever, the bottom line is you should look at the essential ones and try and sort it out,” he added.

Appiah was re-appointed as Black Stars manager back in 2017 to replace Avram Grant who quit as Ghana manager after his side was eliminated from the semi-final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Al Watani trainer led Ghana through 20 games, winning nine, losing six and drew the remaining five. Despite his respectful record, his side’s performance was unconvincing especially when they faced strong sides.
At the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the four-time champions barely made it out of their group before losing to Tunisia 5-6 on penalties.
In his first stint at Black Stars, Appiah guided the Black Stars to the 2014 World Cup, becoming the first local coach to achieve that feat.
