Yanga Pursuit Of Zambian Striker Takes A Knock

Tanzanian side Yanga have made an offer for Zambian striker Justin Shonga currently plying his trade in South Africa, an offer reportedly turned down by Orlando Pirates.

Tanzanian side Yanga have made an offer for Zambian striker Justin Shonga currently plying his trade in South Africa, an offer reportedly turned down by Orlando Pirates.

Yanga are believed to be interested in the services of Justin Shonga, with reports in South Africa suggesting that Pirates are willing to let him go at the right price.

The Young Africans have strong intent to end Simba Sports Club supremacy in Ligi Kuu Tanzania, and are expected to make five new signings before the end of 2019/20 season.

However, they are not done yet, with latest reports indicating Buccaneers rejected $500,000 [R8.8-million] bid for the 23-year-old striker.

Sources say that Yanga could still land their target if they increase their offer to upwards of R10-million.

The Tanzanian giants, who are looking to represent the country in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, are understood to be under siege from Congolese powerhouse TP Mazembe over the services of the Chipolopolo star.

With several internationals set to be dropped by head coach Luc Eymael, the Dar-based side will be itching to get some experience from Shonga, who is rumoured to be looking for a move away.

The Zambian marksman has been with the Buccaneers for the past two seasons but has lately has experienced the wrath of Pirates supporters for not converting many goal scoring chances.
