Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Geoffrey Kondogbia from Valencia on a four-year contract worth €10 million.
The 27-year-old midfielder enjoyed a good season with the Javia Gracia coached outfit but has now switched to the Red and Whites where he will be hoping to make a huge mark in the ongoing La Liga season.
Following weeks of negotiations, the two parties agreed to terms and signed the necessary papers after the player passed a mandatory medical examination earlier today.
“Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Valencia for the transfer of Geoffrey Kondogbia who will play for our club for the remainder of the year and three more seasons,” Atletico said in a statement.

“His good ball stealing also makes him stand out when it comes to intercepting opponent’s attacking plays, making him a very complete midfielder both for defensive tasks and for cutting-edge work when mounting counter-attacks.
“Thus, we welcome a player who joins our project with the greatest enthusiasm.”
The Central Africa Republic international replaces Thomas Partey who left the club and joined English Premier League giants Arsenal.
Kondogbia began his professional career at Lens, before switching to Spanish club Sevilla in July 2012, stints at Monaco and Inter Milan followed ahead of a move to Valencia in August 2017.
He made a switch to the Central Africa Republic in September 2018 after playing five times for the French senior team and helping them win the 2013 Under-20 World Cup.
