Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek have been ordered to pay Ben Acheampong $1.2 million by Court of Arbitration of Sports over wrongful termination of his contract.
The Ghanaian signed for White Knights in 2017 from El-Dakhleya Club and terminated the contract in September 2018 due to unfair treatment.
There were two months remaining in Acheampong’s contract and it is for that reason the Al-Shamal player reported the Egyptian club to the world-governing body for the unprocedural contract termination.
According to Zamalek’s head of media Issam Salem, the money originally owed the Ghanaian has doubled.
“The Acheampong case is two and a half years old, and I think that the decision from the International Sports Court is final, but so far we have not received the decision yet and when we do, we will start to formally move towards this matter,” Salem said.

The striker was represented in court by Professional Footballers Association of Ghana in a case where CAS ruled that he terminated his employment contract with Zamalek SC with just cause.
The court declared that the subsequent “Settlement Agreement” signed between the parties was null and void since the Club had exploited the Player’s straitened circumstances
