Uganda Football Chief Moses Magogo To Pursue Third Term

The current Federation of Uganda Football Associations chief Moses Magogo will seek third term at the helm.

According to a statement released by FUFA on Tuesday night, Magogo, the current president declared his intent to run for another term earlier in the day.

“FUFA elections have begun and my term as the President of the Federation comes to an end on the 31st of August 2021. I am going to stand for another term. I told you when the right moment comes, I will announce and this is the time to declare,” he said.

“There are going to be very many political emotions, let us be aware of them and remain careful that football must continue to exist.”

Magogo was re-elected for second term unopposed at the 93rd FUFA Ordinary General Assembly held in August 2017 in the Western town of Masindi.

He surpassed more than the required 50 per cent of the votes, polling 69 of the 72 valid votes.

Magogo has delivered most of his pledges before the second election, especially in the fields of governance, football development, infrastructure, communication, Finance and Administration plus Membership.

He succeeded Lawrence Mulindwa who served for eight years, but declined to seek re-election.

Before he was voted for the first term in August 2013, Magogo, who is a former employee of Africa Development Bank, served as the Federation’s Vice President,in charge of administration.
