Bayer Leverkusen Put €60m Price Tag On Edmond Tapsoba

Bayer Leverkusen have set a €60m asking price for in-demand defender Edmond Tapsoba, according to a report.

The Burkina-Faso international has scored one goal and provided seven assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances since joining the German club in January 2020.

A number of heavyweights clubs have been linked with the 22-year-old, Juventus, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Paris Saint-Germain.

Tapsoba has no release clause on his Bayer’s contract thus he is due to remain at the club until at least the summer of 2026.

The Sun reports that the Bundesliga has no intention of letting Tapsoba for a cut-price this summer as the centre-back is one of their key players.

Instead, it is claimed that Tapsoba will only be allowed to depart the Company’s Eleven if an interested party are willing to meet their huge €60m valuation.

Arsenal are reported to be losing out on Brazilian defender David Luis, who has been linked with a host of clubs.

Reports claim that the English Premier League giants are preparing to revamp six positions in efforts to strengthen their squad after finishing 8th on the league table.

Tapsoba made his Burkina Faso debut at just 17 years, six months and 22 days old in a friendly against Uzbekistan on 24 August 2016.

He initially signed for Leixoes in Portugal’s second tier but would only be at the Estadio de Mar for a season before top-flight Vitoria Guimaraes came calling in 2018.

Before switching to Germany, the centre back was linked with a move to Premier League side Leicester who were impressed by the Ouagadougou native’s displays against Arsenal in Europa League.
