Ethiopia Premier League giants St George SC have unveiled Serbian Zlatko Krmpotic as their new head coach, Ducor Sports can reveal.
St George have brought the excitement back to their camp after unveiling former Dar Young Africans coach as their new mentor.
Krmpotic replaces Frank Nutall, who left the club following the expiry of his short term contract with the Ethiopian top-flight side.
The 63-year-old joins St George with vast experience having coached teams across Europe and Africa for the last 27 years.
He left his previous job at Yanga in October 2020 after just five matches in Tanzania Premier League matches, winning four and drawing one.
The CAF 2015 Champions League winner, was appointed as the Jangwani giants coach at the end of August 2020 replacing Luc Eymael who was shown the door over racist comments.
The Serbian had signed a two-year- deal with the club but he failed to impress his bosses tactically as most of his roles were being performed by his assistants.
Krmpotic has coached big clubs in Africa like TP Mazembe, where he was an assistant manager under French head coach, Patrice Carteron.
At TP Mazambe, he managed to win the DR Congo’s Linafoot title in 2015, having joined the club after his stints with Serbian under 17 and Under 19 National teams between 2005 and 2008.
After leaving the Congolese side he joined Zambian outfit Zesco United, then Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana, APR FC in Rwanda and before switching to Polokwane City in South Africa.
