Zimbabwe Coach Reacts To AFCON Draw

Zimbabwe national team head coach Zdravko Logarusic has said they will be ready for their Group B opponents at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.

The Warriors were pitted alongside Senegal, Guinea and Malawi and the Croatian insists his team have a lot on their hands.

“I don’t care who we play in this group,” said Logarusic in an interview with Zimbabwe’s paper, Herald.”We respect all the teams in this group.

Football is changing. There are no more big or small teams. We are the Warriors. And we are ready to fight,” the coach continued.

“But the reality of the field is the only judge of its strength. And the post-draw or pre-match speeches have to materialize on the pitch.”

Logarusic, present at the Afcon draw held at Yaoundé Conference Centre hinted the Warriors plan to tackle two west African sides in the build-up to the tournament which starts 9 January in Cameroon.

Zimbabwe open their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a game against Senegal on 10 January in Bafoussam  before facing their regional rivals Malawi four days later.

The south Africans will complete their group games with a date against Syli Nationale of Guinea on 18 January 2022 at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Younde.
