Nightmare In Rabat For Guinea-Bissau as Morocco Score Five

It was a nightmare to forget for Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday night after Morocco slammed five goals past the food-poisoning recovering Djurtus side to register a 5-0 victory in a 2022 World Cup, Group I qualifier match at the Stade Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.

The opening 30 minutes proved to be a dull affair, with the home side being restricted to long range efforts.

However, Guinea-Bissau’s resistance was broken in the 33rd minute, as Imran Louza slid a powerful tee up Achraf Hakimi, who fired home from close range.

Two minutes to half-time break, the Atlas Lions double was doubled, this time Louza getting on the score-sheet scored from the spot, after one of strikers was brought down in the area.

Guinea-Bissau did not offer much in attack and defended with all their might to go into the break only trailing by two goals.

On the 49^th minute Ilyas Chaira put the result beyond doubt with his second goal of the night and his country’s third, 3-0.

The home side added a fourth in the 62^nd minute courtesy of a clinical finish from striker, Ayoub El-Kaabi.

The icing on the cake for Morocco was their fifth goal, scored by Munir El Haddadi in the 82nd minute, 5-0.

The win takes Morocco to the top of Group I with six points from two games, two more than second placed Guinea and Guinea Bissau, while Sudan trails the group on one point.
