Paul Nkata Appointed as New Gor Mahia Coach

Gor Mahia have sacked Englishman Mark Harrison and appointed Ugandan coach Paul Nkata as his successor.

The Kenyan Premier League outfit confirmed the departure of Harrison together with his assistant Sammy Omollo and goalkeeper trainer Jerim Onyango.

Harrison’s job ended following Wednesday’s 3-0 defeat by Posta Rangers in what was the K’Ogalo ‘s third successive FKFPL match without tasting victory.

The Englishman was appointed as Gor Mahia coach at the beginning of the season to fill the void that was left by Portuguese gaffer Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto.

Nkata now leads their technical team set-up, and will be assisted by Youth Team coach Jared on interim basis.

The 58-year-old gaffer is now new to Kenyan football as he initially coached Kakamega Homeboyz coach where he resigned after claims emerged that he placed bets and paid players to lose games.

He previously coached Bandari, Nairobi City Stars, Muhoroni Youth before leading Tusker to a double in 2006/2007 season.
