Amazulu will face Raja Club Athletic on Friday, in matchday five of the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League in Group B.
The South Africans are third in their group on six points after four games, but just three points adrift of their opponents of the day who are topping the table.
Amazulu suffered 1-0 defeat defeat away to the same opponents in February. Mohsine Moutaouali scored the lone goal for Raja Casablanca, who got their campaign off to the perfect start.
And while Usuthu could have done better away, they remain determined to win at home and revive their hopes for a quarter-final spot.
Benni McCarthy’s side has so far collected maximum points in both matches they have hosted in the tournament.
The KwaZulu-Natal outfit come into the match having been beaten 2-0 by SuperSport United just three days after they drew 2-2 with Stellenbosch in the domestic league.
Coach McCarthy believes that it is possible for his side to bag a victory, especially after bottom of the group Horoya upset Raja 2-1 last week.
“It is a morale booster for us to see that Horoya beat Raja. There are flaws in Raja’s squad and they can be beaten. The fact that we went to Raja in our first game and played well was good,” said McCarthy.
“We created clear cut chances and had we taken them, we could have had a different start to our Champions League campaign. We didn’t do that and then they showed why they are the fourth best team in Africa.”
However, Raja Club Athletic will be confident of strengthening their leadership on home soil and will be expecting to sail to the knockout stages of competition.
Ruled out with injury in the reverse fixture in Morocco, Guinean attacker Moustapha Kouyate is also making his return for the Moroccan giants.
The match will kick off at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 16h00 GMT on Friday 18 March 2022.
