Ruth Aturo will lead Uganda Crested Cranes team in the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.
Crested Cranes coach George William Lutalo named the traveling squad ahead of the tournament that takes place in Morocco from 3-22 July 2022.
Notable absentees in the squad is Cyprus-based sharp shooter Juliet Nakulenge who has not enjoyed good form lately.
The team is set to depart for Casablanca on Wednesday morning before heading of Marrakech where they will set a ten-day camp.
Uganda qualified for Africa Women’s Cup of Nations following Kenya’s withdrawal from the last round of the qualifiers.
The Crested Cranes are in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Senegal and Burkina Faso.
The East Africans are returning to the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations for the first time since making their maiden appearance in 2000 in South Africa.
Hosts Morocco will kick off the tournament in Rabat against Burkina Faso at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex at 21h30.
