Fiston Mayele: Kaizer Chiefs Reach Agreement With Yanga For Congolese Striker

South Africa Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs have reached a deal with Yanga to sign DR Congo striker Fiston Kalala Mayele, according to reports.

A source close to the player disclosed Chiefs and Mayele have agreed personal terms and salary over a three-year deal from his current club Yanga.

Mayele, 28, scored 19 times in 35 appearances across all competitions for Yanga last season.

Another South African side Orlando Pirates were also interested in signing Mayele, who joined the Tanzania Premier League record champions Yanga in August 2021.

Prior to joining Yanga, Mayele used to play for DR Congo giants AS Vita, where he won the 2020/2021 domestic league title with the club.

A fortnight ago, Yanga had indicated they wont let Mayele go, with the club Chief Executive Officer Senzo Mazingiza stating the striker will not be available for sale.

Chiefs were in the market for a proper No.9 after having parted ways with both Leonardo Castro and Samir Nurkovic in early June.

Mayele is a versatile player who prefer centre forward position and he can as well fit as an attacking midfielder.
