Asante Kotoko Appoint Seydou Zebro As Coach

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have appointed Burkinabe Seydou Zebro as the club’s new coach.

The former ASFA Yanenga coach has signed a one-year contract with an option for another year with the Porcupine Warriors and will pocket $3,500 as monthly salary.

The club announced Zebro appointment on Sunday before the Porcupine Warriors’ international friendly against Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman.

Zebro replaces Prosper Narteh Ogum who recently resigned from his post just weeks after guiding the club  to the Ghana Premier League title for the first time in eight years.

The former Burkina Faso international’s last job was the handling of the Stallions at the 2020 CHAN tournament in Cameroon.

Zebro begun his coaching career in the 2013-14 season when he was in charge of Rail Club du Kadiogo.

He later coached Bankuy Sports from 2014 to 2016 before heading to SONABEL and giants ASFA Yennenga.

His first game will be on Tuesday against Al Hilal Omdurman as part of preparations for the 2022/23 CAF Champions League which is scheduled to commence in September.

The match was announced by Al Hilal Omdurman on their social media pages and will be expected to be followed by a pre-season tour in Turkey.
