Zambia Super League giants Red Arrows landed safely back in the country on Monday after their weekend escapade in Angola.
The Airmen were denied a first round chance by Angola’s Club Deportivo Primero de Agosto after a 2-1 aggregate this after one-all stalemate in Luanda; the reverse fixture in Lusaka having ended 1-0 in the favor of the visitors.
In an interview after arrival, Red Arrows captain Benedict Chepeshi said the players have taken full responsibility of the loss as every team member shares the pain of existing the competition.
“On behalf of the boys, I want to all heartedly thank our all stakeholders as well as the thousands of our dear Zambian fans who rallied behind us. We valued their encouragements, the criticism and messages of solidarity even as we went into the competition. This we continue to do so,” the captain told the club media.
“ Actually they (the fans) pushed us to a good fight and we had the chances to go beyond this stage but that is what football is. You make little mistakes as a team..it’s all done.

The Chisi Mbewe’s men will now hope they can forget about their downfall and concentrate on the Zambia Super League where they are slated to take on Buioldcon in a rescheduled fixture on Wednesday October 5 at Nkoloma.
Red Arrows is currently placed eighth on the log with seven points, four points below leaders Prison Leopards, though they have played two fewer games.
