Luc Eymael: Yanga Ordered To Pay Former Coach $152,000 Compensation

Young Africans Sports Club has been ordered to pay former coach Luc  Eymael $152,000 in compensation for ending his contract ealy.

The 63-year-old gaffer was sacked by Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC following a controversial rant in which he described the club’s fans as ‘dogs and monkeys’.

Eymael took the Tanzanian Premier League giants to FIFA Ethics Committee after he was fired in July 2020.The FIFA tribunal ordered Yanga to pay the Belgianfor a breach of contract without just cause and additional sums for outstanding salary and bonuses.

A top official of Yanga told Ducor Sports that the club is yet to decide if there are grounds to appeal against the Fifa decision.

Eymael was appointed to lead Wananchi in January 2020, taking over from Congolese tactician Mwinyi Zahera.

The Belgian coach, who has previously worked in South Africa, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia during a nomadic managerial career, is known for speaking his mind and has a history of making controversial remarks.

During his tenure, Yanga struggled for consistency; he had a target of winning the Tanzania FA Cup and ensure the team play in the 2020/2021 Caf Confederation Cup, but a 4-1 loss to Simba SC in the cup semi-finals meant he missed out on his target of cup glory.

Eymael holds the UEFA Pro Licence, the highest football coaching qualification. He received the UEFA Pro Licence in 2007 and the UEFA A License which he received on 10 September 2002, from the Royal Belgian Football Association.
