Egyptian Referee To Take Charge Of Rivers United v Al Nasr Benghazi Confederation Cup Match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Egypt’s Mohamed Maarouf Eid Mansour as the Centre Referee for River United’s CAF Confederations Cup playoff round match against Al Nasr Benghazi from Libya set for Wednesday.

Mansour will be assisted by compatriots Mohamed Abouzid Halhal (First Assistant Referee ), Ahmed Hossam Eldin (Second Assistant Referee) and Mohamed Adel Elsaid Hussien (Fourth official).

Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone will serve as Match Commissioner while Ozi Salami Abdulrahim will serve as COVID-19 Officer.

Al Nasr Benghazi are set to land in Lagos on Sunday ahead of the match set to be played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

Both teams will clash for the first time at club level on Wednesday in CAF Confederation’s Cup additional playoff round 1st leg encounter that promises lots of fireworks.

The Nigerian giants were eliminated from the CAF Champions League in a humiliating fashion by Wydad Casablanca.

After managing a 2-1 win over the Moroccan club in the first leg, the reigning NPFL champions were hammered 6-0 in second leg in Casablanca.

River United will be aiming for a good show at home as they bid to claim an aggregate advantage to join the group stage of the competition.
