Tunisia will be underdogs going into their 2022 FIFA World Cup, Group D opener against Denmark at Education City Stadium on Tuesday.
The match is scheduled to get underway 13h00 GMT.
Tunisia, who are making sixth appearance at the World Cup, will also face France and Australia in the other Group D matches.
But a win against the 1998 World Cup quarterfinalists will increase their chances if making it to the knockout stages of the competition for the first time in history.
The most recent appearance for Tunisia was in 2018 where they were knocked out in the group phase after losing to England and Belgium.
Analyst feel France and Denmark are the best placed to progress from Group D with Tunisia and Australia considered as outsiders, but all could change with a favorable result in the opening fixture.
“Our group will not be easy, the draw has not been kind,” Tunisia coach Jalel Kadri he told reporters on Monday. “Denmark is among the best squads in Europe. We know they have high quality in every department.
“But we will give our all. We have our strengths, but we also know our weaknesses. We are aware we will be compared to past Tunisia squads.”
Denmark come into the match as Europe dark horses with an outside chance of winning the tournament if they can get everything right in Qatar.
The Read and Whites have immensely talented squad brimming with established talent plying their trade across the top leagues in Europe.
Denmark reached t the semi-finals of the European Championship last year despite losing their opening game.
The Danes coach Kasper Hjulmand believes his charges will replicate their good performances as they come into the tournament n the back of a strong qualifying campaign.
“Our dream is to win something. So when you go into a tournament this group of players has the quality to win, and I mean to win everything,” said Hjulmand.
“Are we favourites? No… but we can beat everyone on the day and we have a very strong self-confidence,” he added.
“We have a very good group of players working together and the best way of winning everything is to dream big.”
In head-to head stats according to FIFA.com website, Tunisia and Denmark have clashed once with the Reds and Whites securing a win.
Match referee Cesar Ramos, who hails from Mexico, will be in charge of the game between Tunisia and Denmark.
