Senegal Coach Cisse Calls For Better Attack

Senegal national team head coach Alliou Cisse has called for better play in attack when they go into their coming World Cup matches.

The Lions of Teranga lost 2-0 to Netherlands in their opening game on Monday and Cisse says they should improve in the attack to complement fine displays when they go into their coming matches.

Cisse emphasized that his forwards  led by Ismaila Sarr and Krepin Diatta should work extra hard and go for goals when well placed.

“We are disappointed to have not scored, we had two or three very good chances,” Cisse told reporters. “We needed to be more effective in front of goal.

“Ismaila and Krepin are responsible there, but of course, the absence of Mane is a problem for us… Our attackers are good and we know what they are capable of.

Cisse is likely to be without two of his dependable players in the upcoming matches, as the duo was forced out of Netherlands game due to injuries.

“I am worried about those who got injured…. for Abdou, it’s a muscular problem and Kouyate twisted his ankle, we need to check and make sure they are ready for the other games,” he added.

Senegal play against host Qatar on Friday before facing Ecuador four days later in two determining matches for the race to the round of 16.
