Regragui Happy With A Point Against Croatia

Morocco national team head coach Walid Regragui praised his team following their goalless draw against Croatia on Wednesday.

The two teams drew 0-0 in their 2022 FIFA World Cup group opening match played at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.

Speaking in the post match press conference, the Atlas Lions gaffer said they deserved to take a point off their opponents.

“I am happy with the draw we must not forget our opponents came into the much stronger than us but we managed to calm down and pushed them to the limit,” said Regragui.

“We made mistakes and we will work on that when we play our next game however I feel we had opportunities that we should have utilized.”

“Croatia is a team that has been consistent and I am happy we did play effectively against them pushing them to the limit in the exciting game.

“We will focus more on defensive duties while also working to ensure we get the elusive goals because in such competitions you can only proceed by winning.”

The draw placed Morocco third on the Group F standings with Belgium on top of the log with three points following their 1-0 victory over Canada.

Morocco will now play Canada in their next Group F match that is scheduled to be played for Sunday at the Al Thumama Stadium.
