Fei Toto Is Still Yanga Player, TFF Rules

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has ruled that Feisal “Fei Toto” Salum belongs to Young Africans Sports Club.

The federation said on Monday that its Legal and Players Status Committee has reviewed the contract presented to it by the record Tanzanian Premier League champions and established that Fei Toto is Yanga’s player.

The Jangwani-based giants had reported Fei Toto to TFF after it was revealed that the player had signed with a rival team, Azam FC.

The 25-year-old midfielder thought he had secured a controversial contract with the ice cream makers, but the documents presented by Yanga indicate his contract ends in August 2024.

“The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Legal and Players Status Committee has decided that Feisal Salum is still a Yanga player, according to the construct. The full decision for both parties involved in the case was given on Monday, January 9, 2023,” a statement by the committee reads.

Following the verdict, a source close to the player commented about the issue on Tuesday, stating that they were planning to head to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to seek justice.

Fei Toto was expected to report to Yanga’s offices, which are located in Dar es Salaam, on Wednesday, but he didn’t show up, with reports indicating that he flew outside the country.

The player had a good season with Yanga, helping the club win the domestic treble last season: winning the Tanzanian Premier League, Community Shield, and FA Cup.

His exploits reportedly attracted interest from various clubs across Africa, including Raja Casablanca.

The Zanzibar-born star joined Yanga in 2018 from Jeshi La Kujenga Uchumi, otherwise known as JKU.
