Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC has officially announced the return of defender Mustapha Kiiza to the club on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old, who has won 24 caps for Uganda Cranes, returns to the club after three years and has signed a short-term deal.
“It’s great to be back,” said Kiiza, who, as a teenager, spent three seasons at KCCA before moving abroad for greener pastures.

Kiiza previously turned to Portuguese Premiera Liga side FC Arouca a club that he left in December 2022 on mutual consent.
Before joining Arouca, the left-back had been linked with many clubs in Africa, including Tanzanian Premier League giants Young Africans.
Before moving abroad, Kiiza helped the former side KCCA lift the 2019 domestic title.
He left the Kasasiro Boys for CF Montreal in July 2020 and left the Canadian club with a month to expire his contract and went on to stay un-attached before FC Arouca landed his signature.
During his days at KCCA, the defender was linked with Moroccan side Hassania Union Sport Agadir and La Liga side Real Valladolid Sports Club.
He played three build-up matches before returning home as KCCA’s asking price for the player was way beyond for Real, who at that time was working on a tight budget.Kiiza becomes the latest player to rejoin the club after Allan Okello who rejoined the club in September last year on loan from Algerian side Paradou FC.
The 2019 FUFA’s Most Valuable Player returned to his home country, where he forged his reputation as one of the game’s strongest talents.
Okello started his career at KCCA Soccer Academy in 2015 before being promoted to the senior team in 2017.
KCCA are currently on top of the Uganda Premier League table with 29 points from 14 matches played this season.
