Ghana U-17 coach Paa Kwesi Fabin named his final 21-man squad for the FIFA under-17 World Cup to be held in India Next month. Kwesi named his final squad on Thursday 21st, after the side’s 2-1 loss to Mali in a preparatory friendly at their training base in Abu Dhabi.
The gaffer gave all the 25 players a chance to play against Mali and prove that they deserve a chance to make the cut. They will be with seven new faces that were not part of the U-17 African Cup of Nations and will be hoping the new energy fires them up next month.
This will be Ghana’s ninth appearance at the FIFA U-17 World Cup and is one of the title favorites following the side’s top performance at the African Cup of Nations and past World Cup.
The young Starlets have a lot to prove for a nation that dominated the tournament in the 90’s, at one time qualifying for four consecutive World Cup finals.
