Coton Sport coach Souleymanou Aboubakar has delivered his verdict on the Cottoners drawing ASC Jaraaf in the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
The Cameroonian giants were draw against Jaraaf in the Friday’s draw that took place in Cairo, Egypt.
If his side manages to get past the Senegalese outfit they will face either CS Sfaxien or JS Kabylie on the road to the finals at a venue yet to be decided on July 10.
Coton Sport progressed to the last-eight after managing second spot in Group B of the competition, where they scooped nine points from six games.
Aboubakar reacted to the draw on Friday afternoon ahead of their Cameroon Elite Ligue One Group B clash against New Star at Stade de la Reunification.
“I think we don’t have a choice at this stage of the competition. All opponents at this level are great. To reach the final, you have to pass through stages no matter the teams ahead of you. We have to work extremely hard if we have plans of going as far as possible in this competition,” Aboubakar said.
“We are aware that its not going to be easy. ASC Jaraaf of Senegal is a very good outfit which is playing at this stage for the first time contrary to Coton Sport that has seen more better exploits in the competition. But despite that, we will work hard to correct our errors of the past to go as far as possible in the competition.”
Other quarter-final games include Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien battling against Algerian club JS Kabylie while South Africa’s Orlando Pirates have a date with Raja Casablanca.
The first legs of the quarter-final games are scheduled for May 16 while the return fixtures have been slated for May 23.
