Achraf Hakimi Appointed UNICEF Morocco Champion For Children

Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi has been appointed by UNICEF office in Morocco as a Champion for Children, Ducor Sports can reveal.

Hakimi was selected due to his support and actions standing for children rights in the North African country.

According to a release published by UNICEF Morocco on Friday, Hakimi will engage in several activities to promote children’s rights.

Upon his appointment, the 22-year-old expressed delight saying he is proud to be involved with UNICEF and its efforts to support children’s rights.

“With the Coronavirus crisis, humanity is going through difficult times. Children are most affected by the impacts of this pandemic, particularly the most vulnerable among them,” said Hakimi.

“It is everyone’s duty to support their cause. I will mobilize and I will support with my efforts the promotion of children’s rights in Morocco”

The Morocco international full-back has been a key element for the Atlas Lions and his club Inter-Milan, a side that he joined in July 2020 from Real Madrid on a five-year-deal.

Hakimi graduated from Real Madrid’s prestigious academy and made his first-team debut in 2017 and after just 17 games he moved to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

He represented the Atlas Lions in both the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and reached the round of 16.
