AFCON 2019: Guinea-Bissau Coach Names Provisional Squad

Guinea Bissau coach has selected strong 29- man provisional squad for the tournament that includes the best young talent in the tiny west African nation who are seen as the future of the Djurtus.

Guinea Bissau coach Baciro Cande will have more reason than most to have a fine 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Cande has selected strong 29- man provisional squad for the tournament that includes the best young talent in the tiny west African nation who are seen as the future of the Djurtus.

This includes Portugal-based Joseph Mendy from Ajaccio and former Benfica star Judilson Mamadu Tuncara Domis in a team that includes nine new players with his squad entirely made of European based players.

Missing in the team are two players with Guinea Bissau roots who the coach has not been able to add, namely FC Nantes’s Edgar le and Sampdoria’ teenager Ronald Vieria.

Guinea Bissau will play the opening match against defending champions Cameroon at Ismailia Stadium on 25th June having eliminated former champions Zambia and Souther African giants Mozambique in the qualifiers.

Djutus have been drawn in Group F alongside five-time champions Cameroon, Ghana and Benin for the Africa biggest football tournament.
