Harambee Stars captain, Victor Wanyama has spoken ahead of the country’s crucial clash against Ethiopia on Wednesday, away in Addis Ababa.
Stars pulled off an impressive 1-0 win over Ghana last month in their second game of the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations group F qualifiers.
Now, the Kenya national team will hope to continue their ‘dominance’ in the group and get a win against Ethiopia on October 10, with Wanyama, who plays for Tottenham in the English Premier League, revealing that the team will down the Waliya Antelopes in their backyard.
“Ghana’s game is gone, the win is gone and now we should turn our attention to the Ethiopia game. It is crucial and we should give our maximum concentration to it; a win will put us in a good position to qualify for the finals,” he said.

Wanyama did not feature in Harambee Stars’ last match that was played at Kasarani, where Japan-based forward Michael Olunga scored the all-important goal that revived their hopes of gracing the 2019 AFCON finals to be held in Cameroon.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone, the other team in group F and who are currently under a ban by FIFA following government interference might be reinstated after a meeting involving the Isha Johansen-led federation, sports ministry and the country’s president yesterday.
Johansen had been ousted as the country’s FA by the government attracting wrath from FIFA, but Monday evening’s meeting might resolve the impasse, as she has already sent a report to what was agreed yesterday by both parties to the world football governing body.
