South Africa coach Hugo Broos has named his squad for the upcoming back-to-back 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (AFCON) against Liberia scheduled for this month.
The first leg will be played at the Orlando Stadium on March 24, while the second leg is slated for March 28 in Monrovia.
Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Cassius Mailula is one notable inclusion in Broos’ 35-man provisional squad.
Al Ahly forward Percy Tau, Burnley’s Lyle Foster, Moreirense’s Kobamelo Kodisang, and Orlando Pirates marksman Monnapule Saleng have made it to the squad.
Portugal-based Sphephelo Sithole will also be looking to impress Broos in the midfield department that has on form Luke Le Roux.
The squad will be trimmed to a lean unit of 23 players before the back-to-back qualifiers against Liberia, who sit bottom of the group.
South Africa and Liberia lost their opening Group K games against Morocco and will now battle it for second place in the group.
Group K has only three teams because FIFA suspended Zimbabwe for government interference in their football.
