Africa U-17s: Senegal Await Outcome of Fraud Complaint to CAF

Senegal is awaiting the outcome of its complaint to Caf having accused Guinea Conakry of age-cheating.

The Junior Lions endured a 2-1 whacking to Guinea leading to their exit but gaffer Malick Diaff remains hopeful of a miracle, insisting his charges aren’t booted out yet.

“There was a problem of management of this event. Senegal is not yet eliminated from this CAN because we are waiting with great serenity the reservation issued against Guinea,” Diaff said over the weekend.

“In this category (U-17 championship), it is important to play young people of the same age, the important thing in our opinion is not necessarily to win a trophy but to advance these young people for the future of continental football,” he said.

Switching the discussion, Malick blamed pressure to deliver on players for their early exit in Tanzania.
