Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has shared his views as the team prepares to face Wydad Casablanca in the final of CAF Champions League.
The Red Eagles demolished ES Setif via a 6-2 on aggregate score line in the semifinals and will now face Wydad Casablanca, an enemy they are familiar with as both sides met in 2018 Champions League final.
Mosimane predicts a tough outing as the team quests to make history by winning the prestigious trophy for a third time in a row.
“It is not easy to play the CAF Champions League final for three straight years. We will do our best to win the title and complete the African treble,” Mosimane told the club website.
“We are representing a big club and we are here chasing a historic achievement.”
The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach also delivered a rallying call for the fans support as they prepare for the Monday clash.
“It is not easy for a football fan to travel to support his team. But we tell those who will come to Morocco that we feel your support and the support of our fans at home,” Mosimane added.
“We will do our best to make them proud. We will try to win the match. It will be historical for our fans and for everybody to win it at Wydad stadium.”
Wydad Casablanca booked the ticket to reach the final after trouncing Petro du Luanda of Angola 4-2 on aggregate in the last four.
The final is the 11th meeting between Al Ahly and Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League, with the Egyptian side edging the head-to-head battle so far, winning four to Wydad’s two victories.
