Egypt Premier League side Al Ahly are engaged in talks to sign Youcef Belaili from Tunisia giants Esperance de Tunis.

Sources close to both clubs have confirmed that the framework of a deal is being put in place and the forward is expected to join the Red Devils in the ongoing transfer widow.

“The deal could be on the cards. The negotiations have been started. In fact, the negotiations are ongoing for Al Ahly and the Esperance,” a source told Ducor Sports.

The agent responsible for his transfer is currently in Cairo where the player is participating with Algeria in the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old forward has so far scored two goals in the competition which he netted against Senegal and Guinea in the group stages and the last quarterfinals.

Ducor Sports has been informed of interest in the player’s services from two unnamed clubs from Romania and Qatar respectively.

Belaili previously played for USM Alger, MC Oran, and Angers SCO among others in his career.

Al Ahly has already beefed up their defence by signing Mali U-23 international Aliou Dieng from Algerian side MC Alger.
