Al Ahly center-back Mohamed Mahmoud says his side is ready to face Raja Casablanca in the 2021 CAF Super Cup set for December 23 in Qatar.
The African Super Cup pits the winners of the African Confederation Cup against that of the African Champions League winners.
Speaking after team’s first training season, Mahmoud said his side has enough quality to beat the Moroccan giants, who last won Super Cup in 2019 after beating Esperance.
“We are ready for the CAF Super Cup game. We are fully focused on the match and we are keen to win the title to make our fans happy, “the midfielder disclosed.
“The coaching staff analyzed our opponents and provided us with all the details we need to get the mission done.
“I was impressed with the warm reception from Al Ahly fans upon our arrival to Doha. I am also pleased by their great support for the team and for me and I hope that the team meets their demands and win the title.
“At Al Ahly, I learnt the true meaning of determination, and here I am, back with great ambitions and motives after the long injury.
“I would like to thank Mahmoud El-Khatib, the club’s president, for his constant support during my recovery. He helped me a lot to overcome that tough period.
