Al Ahly’s Move For Youcef Belaili Is Almost Complete

Egyptian Premier League giants Al Ahly are reportedly on the verge of announcing the signing of Algerian winger Youcef Belaili, according to reports.

Egyptian Premier League giants Al Ahly are reportedly on the verge of announcing the signing of Algerian winger Youcef Belaili, according to reports.

The 28-year-old is set to travel to Cairo on Friday to undergo a routine medical with the Red Devils ahead of unveiling by the 41-time top flight champions.

Belaili will put pen to paper a two-year contract keeping him at the Club of the Century until the summer of 2022 if he passes his medical.

Various sources indicate that the Saudia outfit Ahli of Jeddah has agreed to let the player move after a promise to settle the financial terms with the Egyptian club.

Belaili joined Ahli of Jeddah in summer 2019 on a three-year deal coming from Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunis.

Last season, the winger played 18 games with the Saudia side where he scored five goals and assisted three others.

He had spells at Algerian sides CA Bord Bou Arréridj and Mouloudia d’Oran before being snapped by Esperance du Tunis.

It is worth noting that the player was at once banned from playing the beautiful game for two years by the CAF after testing positive for cocaine in September 2015.

He returned to football after serving the suspension and joined Ligue 1 side Angers where he spent just six months and made just one appearance.

The winger then returned to Esperance where he played a key role for the Blood and Gold in their last CAF Champions League triumph.

The Oran-born player also featured in Algeria’s triumphant 2019 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad.
