Ugandan striker Allan Okello has sent an emotional farewell message to Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) FC after leaving them for Algerian top-flight side, Paradou Athletic Club.
Okello’s four-year-deal with Ligue Proffesionale 1 side was confirmed on Tuesday after a long chase which saw two bids from Algiers side rejected.
The striker took to Facebook to thank former players and coaches he played with at KCCA where he scored 39 goals in 133 appearances.
“Life takes us places when the right time comes. I am here to appreciate KCCA FC management for the platform and coaches especially coach Mike Mutebi for the trust and faith he always had in me. Am thankful to the backroom staff and all support staff for any form of assistance rendered to me during my stay at the club,” he wrote.
“To my teammates, I will always be grateful for the time shared on and off the pitch.
“To the lovely fans of KCCA FC I can’t thank you enough for you always showered me with love both during good and bad days thus will always have you at heart.
“As I embark on a new journey and challenge, I want to thank everyone in the football family that has had a part in my progression and promise to do my best to always do you proud. KCCA FC will always be my home and wish the team the best of luck. Regards, Allan Okello.”
The left-footed striker made his debut for KCCA FC senior team on 27th February 2017 at the age of sixteen and endeared himself to the club’s fans, with his performance and demeanour on and off the pitch.
At the time of his departure, Okello was the club’s top scorer in the Uganda Premier League with six goals in the 10 games he played in the first round of the 2019/2020 season.
