Allende Off To Flying Start In Sundowns’ Win Over Stellies

Marcello Allende debuted for Memelodi Sundowns on Wednesday and made an immediate expression on his new club with classy goal.

The Chilean international completed his $3 million move to the South Africa Premier Soccer League giants this afternoon from Uruguayan Primera Division side Montevideo City Torque.

He made an immediate impact for the Masandawana, scoring nine minutes into his debut for the PSL defending champions.

Allende came on as a substitute on the 69th minutes and netted a beautiful goal in 3-0 win over Stellenbosch in a match played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Sundowns went ahead in the second minute of the game when Neo Maema found himself in the right place to slot away a parried ball by the goalkeeper.

The Brazilians doubled their lead just before the halftime break courtesy of Peter Shalulile, who fired a left-footed strike across and into the bottom corner after a through ball by Morena.

Allende is the latest signing from the continent, joining up with fellow South Americans Erwin Saavedra (Bolivia) and Gaston Sirino (Uruguay) at Chloorkop, who have helped make his acclimatization easier.
