Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has hinted that he may leave Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam at the end of the season.
In a post on his Instagram account, the 24-year-old custodian appeared to be nearing an exit when his contract with Ajax ends in June 2022.
“Six years have passed since the beginning of a great dream. Proud to be part of this family and to have lived such beautiful moments,” wrote Onana under a photo while celebrating one of his club’s victory.
“Thank you so much to our incredible supporters & @AFCAjax.”
Onana has been a transfer target for several European clubs having played 14 Eredivisie league games this season.
It is worth noting that in April 2020 he expressed his desire to make a switch away from the club.
Onana joined Ajax in 2015 from Barcelona having found his way to the famous La Masia academy through a link with the Samuel Eto’o football foundation in Cameroon.
He made his first-team debut for the four-time European champions on 20 August 2016 against Willem II.
The Cameroon international made his senior national team debut in September 2016 in a 2–1 friendly win over Gabon.
Since 2016, Onana has become his country’s first-choice keeper and played a pivotal role in helping Cameroon qualify for the past three editions of Africa Cup of Nations.
